Perks are reliant on SPECIAL attributes and skill levels, so it is important to consider which perks you plan to learn when distributing skill points. Certain perks can be gained more than once, this is shown in the number of ranks for the perk.

SPECIAL stands for Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck. These 7 stats determine your basic capabilities and how well you can perform. They are designated early in the game, when you use the “You are Special” book.
At the start of the game, players will be allowed to distribute a total of 40 points across these 7 character attributes.
